About the Team :
Meesho Superstore aims to revolutionise the way India shops for Grocery and towards that objective, we want to enable the lowest cost distribution for all daily needs. Grocery has the biggest share of the overall retail spend in India and is projected to be a $800B market in 2024, of which the majority contribution comes from non-metro cities. Grocery market in Metro and Tier 1 has become crowded with a lot of players trying to solve the supply chain but the higher cost of logistics restricts these players to disrupt the lower tier cities.
At Superstore, we are building the most cost-effective distribution channel to disrupt the grocery market in lower tier cities of India.
Superstore is an early stage mini start-up within Meesho with a completely different supply chain and modus operandi. We are a bunch of high energy enthusiasts working towards creating something cool and something big.
About the role :
As a Category Manager, you will manage both the demand and supply sides of the business. You will also ensure all the best prices and choices are showcased on the app to the customers. You will own P&L (profit and loss account) and constantly drive value to your resellers. Ultimately, you will make sure the users transacting in your portfolio keep on increasing, and also that your suppliers continue to thrive.
What you will do :
- You will drive marketplace growth of newly launched categories, keeping in mind the consumer and the competition
- You will own the P&L (profit and loss) statement for the relevant categories in alignment with business goals
- You will be responsible for revenue targets as well as gross margins
- You will be responsible for merchandising, assortment planning, option planning pre-season and in-season
- You will identify broader trends and fill in category gaps
- You will coordinate with marketing, supply chain, cataloguing, finance, commercial and other functions of the organisation
- You will drive visibility plans, promotion plans, and coordinate between the internal marketing teams and that of users
What you will need :
- Master's degree
- At least 3+ years of experience
- Strong analytical aptitude in problem-solving (basically we are looking at hustlers!)
- Ability to multitask, think critically and execute tactically
- Have a proven track record of finding innovative solutions to business problems
